Our History

The School took its rise in 1954 as Bengal Engineering College Junior Basic School in the B.E College campus. At the advent of 1955, the sanctorum, it was affiliated by the District School Inspector, Howrah and was ascribed the name “ Bengal Engineering College Model School”. In 1956 it was upgraded to Junior High School sponsored by the Education Director, West Bengal. Manifestly the ascension of this school was indeed uninterrupted. In 1957 it was further upgraded to Higher Secondary School affiliated by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education affiliation by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Howrah, it stands to its credit now as a promising agent of Education – a Higher Secondary School (class XI & XII) with two stream : (i) Science ; (ii) Humanities.

বি ই কলেজ মডেল স্কুল ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের পড়াশোনার ক্ষেত্রে বাহ্যিক ও আভ্যন্তরীণ দিক থেকে পরিবেশ আদর্শ। বিদ্যালয়ে পঞ্চম থেকে দ্বাদশ শ্রেণী পর্যন্ত ছাত্রছাত্রীরা প্রধান শিক্ষক ও সহশিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের নিয়ন্ত্রণে থাকে। বিদ্যালয়ে পড়াশোনা ছাড়াও ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা খেলাধুলা, আবৃ্তি, অঙ্কন,কুইজের মতো প্রতিযোগিতায় দক্ষতা দেখায়। বিদ্যালয় থেকে বছরে একবার শিক্ষামূলক ভ্রমণ আয়োজন করা হয় যা, ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের কাছে অত্যন্ত আকর্ষণীয়। পরিচালনার দিক থেকে বি.ই .কলেজ মডেল স্কুল অন্যান্য বিদ্যালয়ের থেকে অনেক এগিয়ে আছে।

বাংলা মাধ্যমে পড়াশোনায় হাওড়া জেলার অগ্রণী বিদ্যালয়গুলির মধ্যে প্রথম সারিতে স্থান করে নেওয়া একটি বিদ্যালয় হল শিবপুর বেঙ্গল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজ (IIEST) প্রাঙ্গণে অবস্থিত বি. ই. কলেজ মডেল স্কুল। সমগ্র প্রাঙ্গন জুড়ে ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে থাকা চেনা অচেনা গাছগাছালিতে ঘেরা এক দূষণহীন সবুজ পরিবেশে, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাদের ঐকান্তিক ছাত্রছাত্রী বান্ধব, সময়োপযোগী শিক্ষাদান পদ্ধতি অন্য অনেকের মতই আমাকেও আকৃষ্ট করেছিল। তাই আমার কন্যা'র প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা সম্পন্ন হওয়ার পর মাধ্যমিক শিক্ষায় পঠনপাঠনের জন্য এই বিদ্যালয়ের কথাই সর্বাগ্রে ভেবেছিলাম। আমার কন্যা ২০১৯-২০ শিক্ষাবর্ষে পঞ্চম শ্রেণিতে এই বিদ্যালয়ে ভর্তি হয়ে বর্তমানে দশম শ্রেণীর এক ছাত্রী। IIESTতে পাঠরত ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং এর ছাত্রছাত্রীদের সামনে থেকে দেখে বি. ই. কলেজ মডেল স্কুলের প্রতিটি ছাত্রছাত্রী আগামী দিনে উচ্চ শিক্ষার স্বপ্ন দেখবে এই আশা রাখি।

As a guardian my experience of B. E. College Model High School fulfils my expectations. A strict discipline is always maintained here. The teachers are sincere, responsible and painstaking. They check the students' copies regularly and their mode of teaching is quite satisfactory. Extra-curricular activities are also given much importance. Overall, the school has really an appropriate learning environment.

I am a guardian of a student who is studying in class vii in this school.The teachers in this school are very good. They are very helpful and shares many interesting and unknown information to the students. It has a good learning enviornment. Many extra curriculum activities are done here. This is one of the best school among the bengali medium schools.
